USGP or Purcell Double Cross?

12 Oct

So I have a dilemma on my hands. I am going to race my cyclocross bike on the 23rd and 24th of this month. However, I don’t know where that will be. I could drive 4 hours to Purcell OK and race double cross or I could Drive 10 hours and race the USGP Derby City in Louisville.

I really want to go to Louisville but don’t know if I can handle that much time in the car. Plus, if I go to Purcell there is a better chance that I could make some $ not just spend it.

That brings me to my next point. Racing is expensive. I am remembering now why I stopped racing in the first place. Hotels, extra wheels, gas, food, etc. really drain the coffers for those of us that are not sponsored.  Not to mention that the constant travel and preparation are taxing on the body and wallet almost as much as the race itself.

So, I have been trying to figure it out all day but to no avail. I  guess I will have to sleep on it.

Tough one! My opinion is the there will be no comparison to the experience you will receive at the USGP. However, $ & time is a factor… good luck either way!
